Gorgeous gowns

The audience clapped, cheered and gasped at many of the outfits on display during the wedding fair’s two fashion shows.

Models from Stanley’s Model Management took to the catwalk.

Opening the show was Belle And Bouquet of Wellingore Hall, with traditional bridal gowns in ivory and white. There were long trains and diamanté- encrusted detail. A child’s red bridesmaid dress was also on show.

Second came Familytique of Market Bosworth, with outfit ideas for the mother of the bride, mother of the bridegroom, and stylish guests.

The company has a range of more than 2,000 outfits in stock, for sizes eight-24, in a range of fabrics. A variety of two-piece skirt-suits and dresses in colours, including green, brown and beige, were shown.

Hats On Heads of Lincoln, followed with a range of hats and fascinators inspired by the garden. The audience gasped at the first item, a fascinator with big white flowers and tall green stems. All hats featured some kind of floral design.

Berketex Bride of Nottingham then displayed a mix of contemporary and traditional wedding gowns in different colours, including ivory, lilac and green.

Bridegrooms were given some inspiration from Eternally Yours of Newark. They showed a cream suit complemented with brown tie and cravat and black formal suits.

A cream suit with pink tie and cravat was also worn by a young model.

Female members of the audience were treated to a dance with the three male models on the catwalk.

A selection of lingerie followed from John Lewis of Nottingham. It included ranges from Chantelle and Elle Macpherson, plus traditional white, cream and lace underwear.

Male models also showed off a range of boxer shorts available to bridegrooms from John Lewis, including Calvin Klein designs.

Eternally Yours returned to display their range of bridal gowns with some classic designs. They also showed a silver ruffled dress, a white dress encrusted with diamanté and a cream lace dress.

The second scene from Familytique displayed a range designed by Linea Raffaelli.

With fabric imported from Belgium, the outfits included a dress and two-piece outfit in the same floral design. There were pink trousers with a long, flowing matching top and a purple skirt matched with a green halter-neck top.

Belle And Bouquet gave a second display of gowns, including a full-length white dress with a low-cut back, and a fitted cream dress with net skirt.

Hats On Heads, who sold a range of makeyour- own hat kits at the fair, returned with a wide range of hats in colours such as yellow and pink.

Familytique then showed some designer outfits from London, Paris, New York and Milan.

The shows, which lasted about 45 minutes, ended with outfits for the bride and bridegroom from Eternally Yours.

The finalé included a red dress worn with golden jewels.
